Top Dogs, Newts and the Undead

This Wednesday in games opens to the tune of hip hop, as Relax Gaming's Top Dawg$ brings a doggy take on the LA rap scene. We then rocket to the stars in Astro Newts Megaways, an Iron Dog Studios with a free spins round that can take you across the planets in our solar system! The Dead Escape is a Habanero slot where the shambling undead appear on reels 1, 3 and 5 as the wilds. PGSOFT closes us off with Mahjong Ways 2, a 5-reel slot based around the Chinese board game complete with a cascade mechanic triggered whenever you form any of the 2,000 paylines on offer. 

Top Dawg$ Gameplay and Features 

Relax Gaming combines the LA rap scene with dogs in Top Dawg$, a humorous 5-reel, 3-row slot with a total of 15 paylines. Four dawgs loosely based on notable hip hop names make the high pays, while a yellow "W" symbol is the wild, able to substitute for all symbols except the Oldsmobile scatters and mystery symbols. Land a mystery symbol on reel 5 for the Mystery Respins feature, where you can only land more mystery symbols or dead tire symbols. The respins continue until you land no more mystery symbols, which is when all mystery symbols on the reels turn into the same random paying symbol and bring about a payout. 

Astro Newts Megaways Gameplay and Features 

Astro Newts Megaways is an Iron Dog Studios game that introduces us to a crew of amphibians set to make their way to the stars. This adventure takes place on a 6-reel slot that, as the name suggests, is indeed powered by the Big Time Gaming engine. This means each reel can have anything from 2 to 7 rows, allowing for up to 117,649 paylines. As you spin the reels you will notice fuel tank symbols, which are collected in the big tank on the right-hand side of the screen. Collect 6 fuel tanks to rocket to the moon for a round of 8 free spins! Collect more fuel tanks during this round to head off to other planets, with each unlocking a different modifier such as super fuel cells, locked reels and a progressive multiplier feature.

The Dead Escape Gameplay and Features 

Look out, the shambling hordes are about! The Dead Escape is a 5-reel, 3-row Habanero slot based around apocalyptic zombie horror. Reels 1, 3 and 5 hold the zombie, which is the wild able substitute for all symbols except the truck scatter. Land a male or female survivor symbol on the reel adjacent to a zombie on the same row to trigger a duel. This consists of a coin toss that can either reveal "dead" or "escape." A dead result turns the survivor into a zombie wild, while escape causes the wild to expand and fill the entire reel. (Please note this game is not available in the UK). 

Mahjong Ways 2 Gameplay and Features

The second game in the PGSOFT series, Mahjong Ways 2 is a slot inspired by the popular Chinese game. It features 5 reels with rows in a 4-5-5-5-4 configuration, allowing for 2,000 paylines. Form any of these paylines to trigger a cascade, as the winning symbols disappear from the reels and new ones fall in their place. Each cascade also increases the round multiplier, which starts at 1x and can reach up to 5x.  During any spin, paying symbols may appear in gold form on reels 2, 3 and 4. Gold symbols that make part of any win will not disappear from the reels. Instead these transform into a wild, which remains in play until the cascade process is over.
