Bounty Showdown Introduction

The sun is setting over the small town in the American West, marking a perfect time for a showdown to take place! This is the setting of Bounty Showdown, a fairly stripped down yet still hugely compelling slot from Fantasma Games. The setup is simple enough - 5 reels, 3 rows and a total of 10 paylines formed by landing 3 or more matching symbols on adjacent reels. The game actually takes the "Book of" model, as the skull symbol found on all reels is both wild and scatter. This means it can substitute for all symbols and, if you land 3 or more, trigger the Showdown free spins. These start off with a spin of the Gatling Wheel, which will determine the multiplier active during the round. And if you land 2 wilds? That's when the Double Bonus Respin feature kicks in. But if you want to learn what that involves you just need to read on, of course!

The Old West did have bounty hunters, but these were not as common as popular culture makes us believe. Bounties were not actually issued by the government - these were, instead, issued by public peace officers, private detective agencies and companies such as Wells, Fargo & Co. In addition, the majority of bounty hunters were not lone gunmen, but town marshals and sheriffs looking to supplement their incomes. The term "bounty hunter" did not even exist in the Old West, at least not in the way we know it today, as its modern conception actually originates from the newspaper serials and pulp novels about gun-toting cowboys popular in the 1950s.

Bounty Showdown Game Features

Bounty Showdown is a 5-reel, 3-row slot with 10 paylines. Paylines are formed by landing 3 or more matching symbols on adjacent reels, starting from reel 1 and moving from left to right. Forming these paylines is a selection of 8 paying symbols, which are equally divided between high and low pays. On the high-paying side you will find 4 Wild West characters, namely the skull-faced gunman, the cigar-smoking woman, a man holding a stick of dynamite and a blonde, knife-wielding woman. Making the low pays, on the other hand, are the traditional A, K, Q and J card royals. The final symbol on the reels is the skull set inside a revolver's cylinder. This is the combination wild and scatter, which can substitute for any symbol on the reels and, if you land 3 or more, trigger the free spins.

Bounty Showdown Free Spins and Bonuses

Landing 2 wilds on the reels activates the Double Bonus Respin feature. This has the reels holding the wilds lock in place while the rest respin, giving you another chance of landing a third scatter. If this happens - or you simply land 3 or more scatters on a regular spin - you get a round of Showdown free spins. These start with 3 spins of the Gatling Wheel. This wheel has 16 chambers, each holding a bullet bearing a value ranging from 1 to 100. The values of the bullets collected from the free spins are added up, and the total makes the multiplier active during the free spins. As for the number of free spins, 3, 4 or 5 wilds bring 10, 15 or 20 respectively. Land a wild during the free spins and you get a payout equal to the current multiplier. The free spins can be retriggered, as landing 3, 4 or 5 scatters adds 3, 4 or 5 free spins to the total. You also get another spin of the Gatling Wheel, increasing the current multiplier.

Where available you can pay for a round of Showdown free spins. This costs 80x the bet and can be accessed by pressing the "Buy Free Spins" button on the lower right-hand corner of the screens.

Bounty Showdown Payouts

The skull-faced gunman is the highest paying symbol on the reels, being worth up to 100x the bet. The cigar-smoking woman follows at up to 50x the bet, the dynamite holder 40x and the knife wielder 30x. Moving on to the low pays, the A can bring up to 10x the bet, the K 7.5x and the Q and J 5x. In addition, landing 5 wilds is worth 100x the bet.

Bounty Showdown Graphics and Sound

Bounty Showdown is set in a typical small Western town, one consisting of muddy streets and what appears to be a half-ruined church. The sun is setting, landing a dramatic atmosphere of what will probably be a bloody gunfight! The reels making the game can be found inside a wooden frame holding a board that is probably used to hang bounty posters. Here you will find the symbols, all of which are big and detailed. This is especially true of the high pays, as each depicts a different, unique character. Topping off this package is a soundtrack heavy on the twanging guitars, and as such perfect for a game with a Wild West theme.

Bounty Showdown Conclusion

Few Wild West slots can get as solid as Bounty Showdown! This game might appear to be stripped down, and to be fair it is, but it does bring plenty of thrills through its use of skull wilds. How big will the multiplier you get from the Gatling Wheel go? There is only one way to find out, and that is by taking on Bounty Showdown here at Videoslots Casino today!
